Big Smirkus Benefit Show!

Raise the Big Top! Circus Smirkus

Benefit Show a Big Success!

A constellation of Smirkus stars returned to to the ring in a FUN- RAISER for New England’s favorite youth circus! Acrobats, high wire, trapeze and clowns! It was an evening and afternoon of high adventure and low comedy!

The show took place at the Cahall/Sawyer Gym, Thayer Academy, 745 Washington St, Braintree MA 02184 (Map)(Directions) (MBTA Commuter Rail Old Colony lines from South Station to Braintree station, then a 10-minute walk).

All proceeds go toward the cost of producing this year's summer Big Top Tour.

OUR MISSION
Circus Smirkus is a non profit, award-winning, international youth circus founded in Greensboro Vermont in 1987. Our Mission is to promote the skills, culture and traditions of the traveling circus and to inspire youth to engage in life-changing adventures in the circus arts.

BUT WHY CIRCUS?

At Smirkus, we believe the universal allure of the performing arts, and circus in particular, helps children to form friendships and bonds that transcend the barriers of economic situation, class, culture, geography, age and ability. Circus is a non-competitive art form in which anyone can participate, and behind which the driving force is the desire to better oneself. Fueled by the desire to perform, kids develop physical skills, the qualities of self-discipline, cooperation, dedication, and a host of other attributes that prepare them for the demands of adulthood.

KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE
Our programs depend on the generosity of fans like you. To donate to Smirkus click on the button below and join the fun as we launch this year's bandwagon of high adventure and low comedy. On behalf of the 8,000 kids who participate in our programs, and our audiences of over 50,000 that thrill to our show each year, a great big Smirkus THANKS for your kindness.

Donors

When you contribute to our general program, you provide vital support for all our programs, from the Big Top Tour to Summer Camp. Or you may choose to support our scholarship fund, which makes it possible for many Smirkos to attend our programs. In either case, you will become a valued member of the extended Smirkus family, and as such you will receive our semi-annual newsletter and announcements of our tour schedule and special events.

Sponsors

We receive critical support from businesses (big and small), corporations, and corporate foundations. When your business chooses to sponsor Smirkus, you can choose whether to support our general program or a specific interest such as Tour or Camp. Whatever you choose, your support will help maintain our programs and ensure their existence for the Smirkos of the future. We will work with you toward a unique marketing plan so your organization is recognized as a Smirkus sponsor. And, as a member of the Smirkus family, you will receive our newsletter as well as tour and special event announcements.

Matching Gifts

We also benefit from matching gift policies. Many companies nationwide have such policies in place, making it possible for individual donors to make their own gifts work harder with the help of matching gifts from their employers. Check with your employer to see if this is an option for you.
